Historic Charleston Foundation PreserVISIONist Soirée

The Historic Charleston Foundation is a nonprofit dedicated to preserving Charleston’s historic character and promoting thoughtful, community-focused development. I was honored to provide the artwork for their annual PreserVISIONist Soirée. As a PreserVISIONist member for over a year, being part of this unforgettable evening in support of Historic Charleston Foundation truly meant the world to me.

I began by creating a line drawing of the Bennett Rice Mill, whose historic façade stands at the center of the South Carolina Ports Authority’s Union Pier Terminal in downtown Charleston. Opened in 1845, the mill is widely regarded as one of the finest surviving examples of 19th-century American industrial architecture.

My rendition of the Bennett Rice Mill was featured throughout the event, appearing on the primary invitation, matchbooks, posters, napkins, and bar menus. Seeing the artwork come to life across so many touchpoints was incredibly rewarding.
